Allen rode for Cambodia after exploring Vietnam. Here is part 2 of his Asia adventure.
All I knew of Cambodia was from documentaries, books and images. One thing in particular that fascinated me was the country’s timeless architecture. Khmer constructions are rich not only in their history, but by the profusion of detail that adorns the temples. I took immense pleasure in travelling the country’s dirt tracks, standing on the pegs of my Brixton, exploring extraordinary sites and marvelling at each stop. I enjoyed camping out in my bivouac in the cassava fields, near rice fields or on the edge of the immense Tonle Sap lake. I really loved how outgoing, kind and generous the Khmer people were. A small modest country nestled between two behemoths of mass tourism; Cambodia seduced me.
