My name is Philipp Spineth. I am 38 years old, live in Lower Austria, and am the proud father of three girls. Professionally, I work in sales. I draw my strength from my family, and balance my job through sport and motorcycling. How did I get my Brixton Crossfire 500 X? It was clear to me that my next motorbike should be the perfect basis for a modern café racer. My motto was “style before speed”. In my search for a suitable motorbike, I kept coming across the Crossfire 500. I have to admit, until recently I was hardly familiar with the Brixton brand. But I immediately fell in love with the details of the Crossfire 500 X. A bike that visually fulfils all the criteria and still offers me enough space to customise. The next step was to look at all the tests on various platforms. The Crossfire 500 convinced me in this area as well. And when learnt that this bike was developed in Austria, everything was clear to me. I bought the Crossfire 500X without ever having done a test ride. Now I already have 2000 kilometres on the clock and have not regretted it so far – on the contrary!
1. In one word, why do you ride a motorcycle?
Relaxation.
2. What was it about Brixton Motorcycles that got your attention?
I was looking for a perfect base for a modern café racer. During my online search I always came across the brand Brixton. I immediately noticed the unique lines and attention to detail. When I was informed that it was an Austrian development, everything was clear to me.
3. What Brixton are you riding? What’s your favourite thing about it?
I currently drive a Brixton Crossfire 500X. The handling paired with the engine sound is simply a dream. I’m proud to ride this bike and enjoy the positive reactions that come my way.
4. How long have you been riding for?
For a total of 12 years. My Crossfire since February 2021
5. What pushed you into realising your dream of riding a motorbike?
As already mentioned, I would like to individualise in the direction of a modern café racer. I’ve already implemented a few things – clip-on handlebars, shortened front fender, wrapped exhaust, side license plate holder, and many more. However, there are still some things I have planned.
6. What’s the craziest ride you’ve been on? Where do you plan on going next?
When I received my Brixton in February, I couldn’t wait to start riding it in on the first day. It was f***ing cold but inside I was burning with joy. Besides my almost daily trips to work, I’m planning a trip to Salzburg with a stop in Krems to check out the new showroom at KSR.
7. The furthest from home you’ve ever been on your Brixton?
Since February there have been no significant long distances so far. However, more and more beautiful days are ahead of us.
8. The most beautiful place you’ve been on your Brixton?
Currently, the Kahlenberg in Vienna is at the top. But there are still other destinations waiting for me and my Brixton.
9.Would you rather ride on ocean roads or mountain passes?
Definitely ocean roads. To me this would be a completely different feeling and experience.
10. The best place to run out of gas?
In order not to waste time, right in front of a gas station.
