Rider of the Month: Robert on his Brixton Cromwell 125 in Backstage Black
NEWS | 29 April 2021

Rider of the month: Robert

“I was born in Slovakia near the capital, Bratislava, and moved to Austria when I was seven. In my free time I like piloting drones, taking aerial photography and time-lapse movies with my DSLR, and I have started training for my soaring license.”

1. In one word, why do you ride a motorcycle?

Happiness. I spend a lot of time in the car to get to work and a lot of time in the office, so it’s the perfect balance to everyday life.

2. What was it about Brixton Motorcycles that got your attention?

By the time I was 15, I already had a lot of fun riding 50cc motorbikes. More than 10 years later, I thought ‘why not get back on the bike again?’ After a short search on the internet, I came across Brixton. The cafe-racer design immediately grabbed me, and when I saw the price, the decision was already made.

3. What Brixton are you riding? What’s your favourite thing about it?

I have to admit it’s my second one – last year I had a Sunray, and now I ride a Cromwell in black. What I like the most is the colour-split tank in black gloss and matt, and of course, the nice sound of the engine. As black Is my favourite colour, I identify through and through with the motorbike.

4. How long have you been riding for?

It’s now my second year on a 125cc bike.

Brixton is a magnet for strangers.

5.What’s the craziest ride you’ve been on? Where do you plan on going next?

On a sunny day this winter, I decided to take a ride at -2 degrees because I couldn’t wait any longer. After 10km I couldn’t feel my fingers so I turned back home, but it was worth it anyway! The next trip I’m planning is bigger – I’m going to drive to Großglockner Hochalpenstraße in spring or early summer. It’s a 48km long road with elevation of up to 2500m above sea.

6. The furthest from home you’ve ever been on your Brixton?

Last summer I drove from lower Austria to upper Austria and back home, partly on the motorway. The total milage on that day was about 300km. My hands and back hurt afterwards, but It was totally worth it and a lot of fun!

7. The most beautiful place you’ve been on your Brixton?

Until now, definitely Wachau Valley In lower Austria – it vines along the Danube surrounded by a beautiful hilly landscape.

8. Would you rather ride on ocean roads or mountain passes?

That’s simple. If I lived closer to the ocean, it’d be the ocean. But as I live in Austria, it’s the mountain passes.

9. The best place to run out of gas?

Any place would be fine, because before long someone would stop, ask what kind of motorbike it is and probably bring some fuel. Brixton is a magnet for strangers!
