The warmth is returning, and if you’re anything like us, you can’t wait to lift the covers off of your Brixton, knock the kickstand back, and catch up on all of the riding that you’ve missed out on over those chilly winter months. But before you let loose again, have a look at our season start checklist.

Let riding your Brixton be a breeze when you’re out in the wind…

When Mother Nature cranks her fan up, and the conditions start to knock the wind out of you, apply these techniques and get yourself safely all the way to point B.

Whether you’re riding home late from work or you’re a night owl flying around underneath the stars, riding your Brixton when the sun goes down can be a seriously enjoyable experience, but one that isn’t without risks. I have been driving my Brixton for almost 2 years now and I am very enthusiastic about it. Even after almost 15.000 kilometres I still enjoy riding this bike so much – no matter if riding to work or doing a big tour in summer!

I have been using my Brixton Sk8 to go to work in the heart of Paris for almost two years now.
My Brixton is perfect during the week in the city to make your way through the dense Parisian traffic and to go out with my wife to enjoy superb walks when spring returns.

St. Augustine & Cape Canaveral

From the Keys, we head back North along the East Coast. The US 1 leads us along the vast, empty beaches of the Atlantic, oh so different from crowded Miami Beach. And we comply with a tradition we already started on Papa’s motorcycle: writing down the all the places we’ve crossed on the tank.

Miami & the Keys

We were thinking of heading straight down to Texas and across the border to Mexico. But if you get the chance, why turn down Miami and the Keys? On a sudden impulse, we decide to head East instead of West. Florida here we come!

Halloween in New Orleans

We ride down the Blues Highway, US 61, all the way to Vicksburg. Vicksburg is the first town where we start seeing this architecture typical for the Southern states of the US: two-storey brick buildings with wrought-iron railings along the balconies. Here, the autumn colours we witnessed less than a week ago, are just distant memories.

Nashville & Memphis

Music, music, music… It’s such an important part of everyone’s daily life. And that’s where we’re headed next. Leaving Kansas City was hard, as was taking a decision. But we’ve finally settled on New Orleans. The risk of running back into snow and cold was too high if we would have headed for Cleveland. However, before reaching New Orleans, we have some mandatory musical stops in Tennessee: Nashville and Memphis.

Kansas City

We have decided to push back our decision making for a couple of days. The big question was: Cleveland or New Orleans. We’ve settled for Kansas City and will see from there on.

Denver

Our last stretch to Denver is the toughest. As we leave Laramie, we´re faced with a wall of clouds and fogs. It´s only going to be like that for a moment I think to myself. How terribly wrong I was! As we enter the fog, the already low temperature drops even more. We switch our warning signs on, incapable of driving faster than 40 km/h. With every passing second, I´m dreading that a car will run into us, not seeing us with all this fog.

Idaho & Montana, the Lewis & Clark Highway to Denver

My movie lover self leads us down the road to our next visit in Portland. A visit of the USS Blueback, which starred in one of my favourite movies: The hunt for Red October. Although this isn’t the first submarine we visit, I’m once again amazed at the marvel of technology that it is.

US 101, Washington and Oregon

The US 101, takes us down the West Coast, twisting into the forest and along the coastline, spying some famous beaches such as Ruby Beach. After that, the road curves back inland, leaving the coast. For the first time since Alaska, we start feeling the autumn chill.

Life isn’t a beach when you’re riding on sand. So, when the time comes to take your Brixton off-road, there’s a whole host of things that you’re going to want to know
so that you and your motorcycle stand the best chance of tackling such a harsh and unforgiving type of terrain.

Though whilst sand can be a little tricky to get the hang of to begin with, once you’ve mastered this terrain, there’s no other quite like it.

Vancouver and the Sea-to-Sky Highway

During our ride, the sun is setting into the ocean, tinting the skies in purples and blues. After the Icefields Parkway, this definitely ranks as the second most beautiful ride we’ve had.

Okanagan Valley

Following our days in the national parks, we head west towards Vancouver. But before getting there, we must cross the Okanagan Valley. I discovered the Okanagan Valley a few summers ago when I did a road trip with Kassi’s family. And it immediately captured my heart.

The Icefields Parkway – Jasper and Banff National Parks

We’ve been a month on the road so far. A month filled with beautiful Alaskan landscapes, new encounters and rain. Lots of rain! Luckily we found some rain gear for me, otherwise the journey through Alaska and along the Alaskan Highway would have turned out very differently.

But I have to admit that I´m happy to be back with my Brixton.

Canada and Jasper National Park

We’re ready to leave Lyon for Paris, where we’ll be taking the plane with our motorcycles to Calgary, Canada. Well kind of ready… The things to fit on the motorcycles are piling up and there hardly seems to be any space for them.

And just like that, I’m off on this incredible, 8-months long journey from North to South America.

On our strolls and rides we meet interesting people from all over the world. This time we found Joanne, a young lady from France.

She and her dad had the incredible idea of driving all the way from Alaska to Tierra del Fuego, Joanne on her Brixton BX 125 X, her Dad on a bigger motorcycle. During their trip, they will pass through many diverse climates, like jungles, deserts, or tundra. In many regions, driving can sometimes be dangerous. They will drive through 17 countries on their long way to the south of Argentina, meeting many new friends and of course, getting lots of impressions which will stay with them for the rest of their lives

Rider of the month: Hey Dominik

Hey, I’m Dominik, 27 years old, YouTuber, Instagrammer, run a marketing and consulting agency and have been using my Brixton BX125 for about a year now.

The air-cooled 125 cm³ engines purr, the tyres run warm, the bikes are started. The weather holds, the rain clouds get stuck in the mountains. The sun comes through and heats up the asphalt.

On our strolls and rides we meet interesting people all over the world. This time we found Alaa, a young man from Malaysia.

Alaa went on a 10 days roadtrip with his Brixton Motorcycle.

10 days: 18th May – 27th May.

Total riding distance: About 1650 Km

Before the Break Fast Club could start with the customizing, we all agreed on the following basic conditions: no modification of the engine, keeping the road permission or quick dismantling, no new typification.

A few months ago, Lorenzo, owner of a beautiful BX 125 Green had a great idea: to organize a Brixton ride. The starting point would be the city of Barcelona, and the final in Arenys de Munt, an outstanding place near the sea and the mountains. Through a group, Lorenzo shared the plans for that Sunday: the route, stops, route time, and other details.

Rider of the month: Miss Josefine

My greatest passion are two wheels – motorized and not motorized. Since I can think, I have been cycling extensively and somehow cars are not my thing, so motorcycles were probably obvious.

But what I love most about motorcycling is the community, which can’t be compared to any other hobby.

The Break Fast Club is a group of women who have found each other through their shared passion for motorcycling. With our support, they also found their bike, a BX 125 X and started to customize it for the ROKKER Race organized by the Club of Newchurch on 21^st and 22^nd June 2019. For the Motto 2019 “RIDE YOUR MOVIE”, the Break Fast Club decided to pick up “Breakfast Club at Tiffany’s”.

On our strolls and rides we meet interesting people. So this happened: We got to know this awesome bunch of young, cheerful and lovely ladies, and were amazed by their passion and love for motorcycles. This is why we decided to support them and start a fantastic project together.

Therefore, we want to introduce you to The Breakfast Club. Be assured that great things are coming up!
